There you go Suzanne, you've surprised yourself! It just gets easier now as you lay back and wait for a good result Smile

Well done,

Hi Suzanne

Really pleased you've got started on it ... and with such great support too. So far the Humira seems to be working amazingly well on me (apart from one knee) - so I am extremely pleased with it.

Nicely messed up the injection tonight as it went all down my tum... so don't know if it was faulty or whether I did something wrong... so now I'll have to phone tomorrow to find out!! Confused

I really hope it works for you as well as it has for me.. or hopefully even better. I'm not taking anything with it now.. but may retry leflunomide in 4 weeks time - as it is hoped it might work better with something else as well (saw Consultant on Friday).

All the best

me again,

i wish Doreen .. lol BigGrin but watch this space !!

Rose,

i'm trying to think positive starting this,

i posted on Sheila's curtain thread that i managed to hem two 90 inch wide curtains by hand on Sunday, i'm left handed and i do get a lot of pain in this hand and wrist where i find turning on the tap difficult so surprised myself. trying not to read too much into it though as it's such early days.

my shoulders do seem a little more flexible too. did tell Rheumy Nurse yesterday and she was pleased to hear it but i know i have to wait the 3 months.

as for fatigue, i'm not a good sleeper so fatigue does play a big part with my RA. i'll post after the next dose.

Anne i just replied on your thread, do let us know what the outcome was, i'll be interested to hear. but i'm pleased it's working so well for you.

thanks everyone for all the support,

Suzanne x

Hello Suzanne,

Just wondering how life is treating you. How are you ? Do you think humira will be the one for you ?
Did you have any side effects ?

I am still waiting to hear regarding my new treatment - everything is so long winded

hi Rose and all,

thanks for asking,

well i did my 3rd injection this week and am pleased to say have had no side affects at all,

some days i think the pains aren't so bad then other's not so sure .. so trying not to build my hopes up as i am only one month in and i know they say to give it three months.

i had my bloods done on Thursday so wondering if i will see any changes, i am due at the GP on Thursday so i'll ask him for the blood results,

definately feel much more confident about taking it now.

i really hope you hear soon about the Rituximab Rose, as i know how long you have been left not under control and you must be fed up to say the least.

will post when i know more,

hi everyone,

i've got an update.

three injections and one month in to starting Humira i have just had my blood results back.

my Rheumy Nurse phoned me this morning and am pleased to say my ESR has gone from 80-90's down to 47 and CRP has gone from 80's down to 54, ( think i've got them the right way around was so excited i forgot to write them down )

she said this is a really good result for one month in.

i thought i was feeling better in myself, joints don't seem so painful and my mood has lightened but i didn't want to give myself false hope as i know it's early days,

the only other time's my ESR and CRP has gone down is when i have had a steriod injection and not had one for 6 months.

so feeling soooo pleased that finally i am improving 18 months on.

will post as time goes on,

thanks for all your support as ever,

Suzanne x

hi Rose and everyone,

i'm due my second month blood tests on Thursday so will know more then,

but i do feel quite well and more flexible especially with my shoulders ( apart from my left hand ) but i know if there's joint damage that will cause pain.

also my knee's aren't good but i've had Osteo in them for five years now.

i've had no side affects on it and my confidence has grown since the wreck i was starting it.

i'll let you know what next blood tests say,

Hi Suzanne

Glad you have got through the 1st one. I am due to start 1st week in November and I am quite scared but as my crp is now 33 and I am suffering chronic pain I must give it a try and think positive. I will also keep you all postedd.

Regards

val

hi everyone,

thought i'd post my 3 month update since starting on Humira.

saw my Consultant today and they are pleased with my progress .. my DAS has gone from 8.31 down to 4.83,

i have one or two sore joints, but in general i feel quite well. i had a very swollen joint on my middle finger and that has gone back to normal. the most pain i get is from my knee's which have Osteo in them and i take this into account when asked how my joints feel so i think that keeps the score higher than possibly it is with the RA.

i have to give it another 3 months then go back for another follow up, so hoping that Humira keeps on working for me.

i have had no side affects and considering the state i got myself in when starting i've surprised myself at how i managed to inject and take it, but i knew it was a case of needs must.

good luck to anyone starting out on Humira,

Suzanne x

Hello Suzanne,

WHOW. great result on your DAS you must be very pleased and obviously feel so much better.
Well done you - I am jealous. Hopefully I will get there sooner than later.

How are your energy levels ? Have they improved as well ?

Anyway 43 days to Christmas and I am sure you will be feeling better than you did a year ago
